Elke dinsdag OPEN in het café van De Helling. Tijdens OPEN programmeren we breed en altijd iets anders! Met deze dinsdagavond een OPEN georganiseerd door Stichting Prisma Groep. Vanavond organiseren zij een panelgesprek over biculturele LHBTQI+ migranten en expats. De avond zal ondersteund worden door talenten uit de LHBTIQ+ community.

Een panelavond door Stichting Prisma Groep met LHBTIQ+ migranten aan het woord

Laten we deze avond luisteren naar de verhalen van LHBTQI+ migranten en met elkaar in gesprek gaan over migratie, LHBTQI+, liefde en het leven. We maken onderscheid tussen expats en vluchtelingen maar waarom dit onderscheid? En vooral wat zijn hun verhalen. Wat missen deze mensen aan hun herkomstlanden, wat vinden ze prettig in Nederland en wat kunnen we van elkaar leren?

OPEN, every Tuesday in our café at De Helling. With our OPEN nights we program always something different. With this Tuesday evening an OPEN organized by Stichting Prisma Groep. They support bicultural LHBTIQ+ with various projects in the Netherlands.

Tonight they organize a panel about bicultural LHBTIQ+ migrants and expats. The evening will be supported by talents from the LHBTIQ+ community.

These are the panelists tonight:

– Celeste Obispa is an anthropologist, queer, from Curacao, works for the government and is a volunteer for Prisma. She is the host of this evening.

– Nour Anne Abdullah is a Kuweity Dutch female with a trans background and a nurse. She is active in the field of social justice and equality, mainly focused on women, minorities and queer persons.

– Safa is a trans nonbinary performance artist from the Middle East/Iran. She’s been developing a performative way of translating the Farsi poetry of Hafez and Rumi. In translating the symbolism and allegories of this poetry, Safa draws comparisons between the spiritual Sufi path and her struggles as a queer BIPOC in the West.

– Kaye Candaza is from Filipino descent, interseks with trans experience. She is head diversity at Pilipino LGBTQ Europe and board member with Stichting Prisma Group.
