Op zaterdag 14 juni komt het internationale Freedom City 8 Festival naar De Helling. Verwacht een dag waar dans en live muziek samenkomen in een explosieve mix van talent, competitie en grenzeloze creativiteit. In de middag vinden de voorrondes en de eerste Hip Hop en Krump battles plaats, waar dansers hun skills laten zien en strijden om een plek in de finales. ‘s Avonds wisselen high-energy rap performances van lokaal en internationaal talent de dans battles af.

Over het Freedom City 8 Festival
Freedom City vindt voor de achtste keer op rij plaats in het weekend van 13-15 juni. Het grootste hiphop festival van Utrecht, met evenementen in TivoliVredenburg, De Helling, SSBU, Theater Kikker en een clubnight in Ekko, brengt je dit jaar wederom de beste dansbattles, DJ sets en live performances. Freedom City viert de hiphopcultuur, waarbij de energie van de straat en het podium samenkomen. Tijdens Freedom City 8 vullen we de stad met getalenteerde dansers en artiesten van over de hele wereld, die hun skills en passie met jou willen delen. We vieren de vrijheid van zelfexpressie en bieden ruimte aan iedereen om te kunnen zijn wie je bent.
Met een programma breder dan ooit wordt dit jaar dans en muziek ingezet om hokjes te laten verdwijnen en mensen te verbinden. Met spectaculaire dansbattles, theater en live optredens kun je tijdens het Freedom City Festival volop genieten. Groots internationaal talent deelt het podium met lokale artiesten en gaan samen los op energieke beats! Getalenteerde DJ’s draaien de meest dansbare genres zoals hiphop, funk, house, disco en nog veel meer. Verwacht een weekend waarin muziek, dans, community, vrijheid, liefde en passie centraal staan.

On Saturday June 14th, the international Freedom City 8 Festival arrives at De Helling. Get ready for a day where dance and live music collide in an explosive mix of talent, competition, and boundless creativity.
In the afternoon, the preliminary rounds and the first Hip Hop and Krump battles will take place, where dancers showcase their skills and compete for a spot in the finals. In the evening, high-energy rap performances from local and international artists will alternate with the dance battles.
